Requirements will vary depending on the age and ability of the children. For the younger ones we provide scarves and finger cymbals to use while dancing, older children enjoy dancing with canes. At secondary level the students are encouraged to choreograph their own dances with their newly acquired knowledge of Egyptian dance.
I try and give an insight into the background and culture of the dance and most importantly to encourage the children that it is a dance for everyone. The workshops are a safe environment in which to learn and express themselves.
